The Louisville Opioid Addiction Deterrence Task Force is a collaborative effort to combat the opioid epidemic in our community. By bringing together leaders in healthcare, technology, government, and the private sector, we aim to develop and implement innovative solutions to prevent opioid addiction and save lives in Louisville and the surrounding areas.

Our Mission

The mission of the Louisville Opioid Addiction Deterrence Task Force is to leverage cutting-edge health technology and cross-sector partnerships to:

Reduce the number of opioid prescriptions and prevent addiction
Improve access to addiction treatment and recovery services
Raise awareness about the risks of opioid use and available resources
Support individuals and families affected by opioid addiction

Our Approach

The Task Force focuses on three key areas to achieve our mission:

Treatment

Expanding access to evidence-based addiction treatment, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT), behavioral therapies, and support services. Collaborating with local treatment providers and recovery organizations.

Technology

Harnessing innovative health technologies, such as prescription monitoring systems, telehealth platforms, and mobile apps, to support prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts. Partnering with tech companies and startups to develop and scale promising solutions.

Prevention

Implementing best practices for responsible opioid prescribing, promoting alternative pain management options, and educating healthcare providers and the public about addiction risks.
